Destinations

Cancun: the gateway to the Mexican Caribbean for your group.

Blue Dreams DMC meets your group at Cancun airport and arranges transportation, hotels, tours and events in the Hotel Zone, Downtown and Isla Mujeres.

About the destination

A beach destination minutes from the airport.

Cancun is Blue Dreams DMC's home base and the most common arrival point for groups traveling to the Mexican Caribbean. Cancun International Airport (CUN) is a short ride from the Hotel Zone, a strip of beaches between the Caribbean Sea and the Nichupté lagoon, and from Downtown Cancun. Cancun was developed starting in the 1970s as a planned tourism destination, and today combines beachfront hotels with a mid-size city.

It is a common destination for weddings, incentives, conferences and agency series: a group can stay in the Hotel Zone or Downtown and combine the program with trips to Isla Mujeres, Isla Contoy and the reefs just off the coast.

Attractions

What the group's program can include.

The Hotel Zone is a long, narrow island with white-sand beaches facing the Caribbean Sea and the Nichupté lagoon on the other side, with room for water sports and lagoon activities.

Isla Mujeres, a short ferry ride from Puerto Juárez, has a walkable downtown with handicraft shops, restaurants and shallow-water beaches.

Isla Contoy, farther north, is a protected island inside a national park known for its seabird colonies, including frigatebirds. Reefs off Cancun and Puerto Morelos are part of the Mesoamerican Reef system.

The Hotel Zone has its own Maya archaeological site, known as El Rey, with smaller structures open to the public among the hotels.

Tours and activities

Outings that combine with the program.

Blue Dreams DMC builds these outings into the group's program, with transportation included door to door. See tours and activities →

Culture and season

Dates to keep in mind.

In late October and early November, the region observes Hanal Pixán, the Maya Day of the Dead tradition in Yucatán and Quintana Roo, with altars and community activities in nearby towns and squares. Dates vary each year, so check before setting the group's program.

Transfers between venues

From the hotel to the event, to dinner and back to the airport.

When a program combines a hotel, an event venue, a group dinner and an airport departure in the same destination, Blue Dreams DMC coordinates every leg with the same fleet and the same bilingual drivers. See group and event transportation and airport transfers.
